FOREMS Installation on Gomti River – An Entry Towards Purer Waters

The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) recently made an important move towards strengthening river pollution control by installing the Floating Online River Effluent Monitoring System (FOREMS) on the Gomti River—a key source of water for many cities in Uttar Pradesh.

The system constantly tracks key water quality parameters like COD, BOD, TSS, and pH, providing real-time information to enable authorities to take prompt remedial steps. This program is a part of the state’s overall vision for providing sustainable and safe water to urban citizens.

The commissioning was also accompanied by a momentous occasion as IAS Shri Ashish Tiwari, Member Secretary of UPPCB, was awarded for his vision in environmental conservation and technological advancement in air quality monitoring.

The project reflects the dedication of UPPCB towards embracing intelligent, automatic, and data-based solutions such as FOREMS to protect river ecosystems and public health.
