Transferring Water Scarcity to Circular Sustainability: PT Ecological's Cutting-edge STP Implementation for Mayfair Housing

Project Overview

Project Title: Mayfair Virar Garden

Location: Village Bolinj, Tal. Vasai, District Palghar, Maharashtra

Project Type: Residential cum Commercial Township

Plot Area: 88,745.00 sq. meters

Scope of Work:

The Mayfair Virar Garden project, in the affordable housing segment, was suffering from a severe water shortage, buying almost 200 KLD of water every day to fulfill its operational requirements. This repeated expense and resource wastage necessitated the installation of a strong water recycling and treatment system.

PT Ecological Services was contracted to deliver a sustainable and self-sufficient solution that not only resolved the current water crisis but also conformed to long-term environmental regulations.

We designed and installed:

Three treatment units:

  • Two STPs with a combined total capacity of 2,406 KLD,
  • One smaller STP of 45 KLD, and
  • A special 5 KLD ETP for hospital-associated effluent.

All the plants were planted below ground level to enable maximum land utilization without disturbing the township plan.

To ensure minimal maintenance and human intervention, we implemented our RPOM (Remote Pilot Operation Module) system, which made the whole operation fully automated. This not only saved OPEX but also guaranteed uniform performance.

Besides, we implemented an Ultra Filtration (UF) plant to provide high-quality treated water for flushing, gardening, and other non-potable purposes significantly minimizing fresh water reliance.

With these initiatives, the project shifted from water scarcity to water self-sufficiency, removing the need for external water acquisition and providing long-term environmental stability.
